Overall Satisfaction with Qlik Sense

Qlik Sense (on premise server) is currently used by two functional areas of the company. The commercial team comprises the primary user group followed by some of the operations and supply chain team members. Qlik Sense enables the linking of data from disparate legacy systems into coherent dashboards and visualizations.

Pros

  • Combines data from disparate systems
  • Simple user interface
  • Good visibility to applied filters

Cons

  • Features are not the same on-prem and cloud
  • Frequent problems with on-prem CPU pegging to 100%
  • Expensive license structure

Do you think Qlik Sense delivers good value for the price?

No

Are you happy with Qlik Sense's feature set?

Yes

Did Qlik Sense live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Qlik Sense go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Qlik Sense again?

Yes

  • Qlik helped democratize data
  • Qlik license cost is prohibitive for expansion to a large organization
  • Qlik has a shallow learning curve for digitally challenged individuals
Qlik Sense is well suited to combining data from disparate systems. It does require some level of coding to take full advantage of its powerful features. The drag and drop interface does not open up all the possibilities. The internal scripting language of Qlik resembles some parts of SQL. Qlik does enable the use of pure SQL in the select statements in the loading scripts.
