Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

We have roughly 70 employees in our company and use Paylocity for Payroll and timecard tracking. I like that our employees can clock in using the mobile app while out in the field and immediately be able to pull those hours into payroll. We also utilize Jobs so that our techs can clock in and out of specific job sites each day which allows us to better track budgeted man hours for certain contracts. I've been using Paylocity for 1 year now and have seen the changes they have made in that short time to fix issues and make their platform better. There are still some things that need attention, but overall it has been incredibly helpful in tracking payroll, time, employee records, training, etc.

Pros

  • Tailoring PTO policies that will automate accruing, tracking, and using PTO
  • Creating workflows that allow for easy onboarding through the mobile app.
  • Allowing hours to be allocated to departments and broken into different jobs for tracking purposes.

Cons

  • Allowing more features of Paylocity to be accessed through the mobile app
  • Creating a chat feature among employees. For instance, when payroll has a question regarding a timecard. I would like those messages sent, received, and housed within Paylocity and somehow attached to the employee file.
  • More training with the garnishment team on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • more consistent processes
  • more centralized record keeping
They've made it easier and allowed for fewer errors overall.
We don't really use these tools as much at the moment but hope to soon. Especially the surveys that have now been added to Employee Voice.

Paylocity is an amazing tool for tracking time, employee records, PTO accruals/history, payroll, and training. I've seen improvement have been made in the last year to their platform which is encouraging. A significant portion of our employees exclusively use the mobile app so I would like so more attention to be given to the usability of that. Also a chat feature would be amazing! There are some weird things with it that you have to get used to, but I'm hopeful that more updates keep coming down that improve things. Overall it is a great platform.
