Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

My organization is set up to utilize Paylocity's entire suite of services across two companies. In addition to Payroll and HR administrative functionalities, we are committed to Paylocity as a user-friendly and intuitive system for recruiting, onboarding, benefits, employee engagement, and self-service. The report writer and dynamic reporting features assist us in analyzing our company's payroll and benefits expenses and tracking metrics like employee retention and performance.

Pros

  • The payroll functionality is user-friendly, accurate, and reliable.
  • The newer dynamic reporting feature is a game-changer in customizing data presentation.
  • The Data Insights module is invaluable for metrics like labor costs and benefits participation.

Cons

  • System customization has improved dramatically but remains geared towards basic users rather than experienced system administrators.
  • System configuration capabilities are greatly limited compared to Workday and UKG Pro products.
  • Customer service prioritizes quick, canned answers over detailed and personalized responses.
  • Paylocity has provided our employees with the convenience and simplicity of a one-stop resource for their compensation, benefits, time off, and other employment-related information.
  • The accurate and robust payroll functionality has reduced calculation and taxation errors, saving our company money and improving employee satisfaction.

Our company has been on a mission to enhance our overall employee engagement experience by committing to utilize the full suite of Paylocity services available. To that end, we are implementing features like Recognition & Rewards, Surveys, and Learning.

Because of its user-friendly interface, Paylocity is a great solution for a system administrator with limited time and/or experience. Employees will appreciate the convenience of accessing their pay stubs and requesting time off from the employee self-service portal via desktop or mobile app. However, if your organization requires specifically tailored customizations and full configuration empowerment, then Paylocity might not be the best solution.
