Overall Satisfaction with monday.com

We've used monday.com across our organization. Sales use it as their CRM. Client Success uses it to track tasks, development requests, and issues. We manage our development backlog and sprints there. The boards are easy to manage and are very flexible. Being able to connect boards and mirror fields from them allows for great integration between departments and teams. For example, we have board templates for clients that our client success team use that will track enhancement requests and software issues. From there, they can create items in the development backlog. The relevant data are reflected on the client success board in one place without them having to navigate the development boards.

Pros

  • Flexibility in data captured.
  • Task tracking.
  • Cross-board integrations.
  • Data visualization.

Cons

  • Additional automation features.
  • Conditional formatting based on additional fields.
  • More view options.
  • Transparency across departments.
It's easy to use for most things, but you'd need someone that will invest time in learning integration to get the full value of it. The templates that we used were fine to start. We had to tweak things for our use cases. Not everyone is tech-savvy enough to do it themselves. Also, it can be easy to lose data if you're not paying attention. An item was moved from a Sprint and was not easy to track down. Groups don't have a history as far as we could find. Activity/history is at a board or item level. If an item is moved, you'd have to find it to see where it was moved from instead of looking at the group and seeing what was moved out.
I wish we had an option to skip this question. We have not needed to use their support. Almost all issues we've had have been solved with knowledge base articles.
The performance has been generally good. Changes are reflected across integrations quickly. Automation can be slow, though. We have a button on one board that will create an item in another board and link it back. That can take several seconds to be reflected.

Are you happy with monday.com's feature set?

Yes

Did monday.com live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of monday.com go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy monday.com again?

Yes

This is really great for tracking data about various types of things: people, companies, projects, anything. Ownership and dates make tracking your work in a single place very easy. The only thing that bothers me is it needs more automation support. We're able to do most things we want to, but not all. It's really about the breadth of features available. If you want to create complex workflows based on how work progresses, you'll struggle a bit more.
