Overall Satisfaction with Miro

We use Miro to capture ideas in our virtual design thinking workshops - internally and externally- to collaborate with our development team and clients worldwide. After the initial workshop, we also used it to create fast, low-fidelity mockups during the early exploratory phases of product design before we moved to dedicated prototyping tools.

Pros

  • Real time collaboration.
  • Low fidelity wireframes and mockups.
  • Presentations.
  • Whiteboarding and brainstorming.

Cons

  • Find and replace text feature.
  • Allow icon-only wireframe buttons (current buttons have to have text).
  • Ability to rotate icons.
  • Allow blank wireframe input fields.
  • Fix glitch that causes icons not to show periodically.
  • Ability to insert a tab in the middle of wireframe tab bar.
  • Make it easier to create straight dividing lines that don't connect to anything (right now, they really aggressively snap to any element near to them, even if you don't want them to, and it's annoying).
  • Increased alignment between project stakeholders.
  • Democratized product design; anyone can easily view and contribute.
  • Improved collaboration between design and development teams.
Miro was simple and straightforward to implement. The pricing, plans, and structure are all intuitive and easy to manage.
As we are only on the Team plan, many of the more useful-sounding integrations are not available to us. I have tried to use several Miro apps/integrations with other applications and have been frequently disappointed by their narrow scope, limited usefulness, and functionality.
Our business model relies heavily on collaboration. Miro has helped us to grow and scale our globally distributed team and customer base without losing our essential ingredient for success. It offers many ways to facilitate synchronous and asynchronous collaboration to meet each project team's unique needs. Customers are frequently surprised by how collaborative remote sessions can be and often remark how helpful they found the Miro board.
Miro has many more features and options than Mural, making it a much more flexible tool for a variety of use cases, including virtual whiteboard, low-fidelity prototyping, presentations, and visual documentation. We tried Mural, and it felt comparatively restrictive.

Every good idea begins in Miro! I reach for Miro at the beginning of every project, both professional and personal. I'm a visual thinker, so I use it to gather ideas, organize information, and create diagrams. I love that it's quick and intuitive. Customers love it when I can update sketches in real time and make their ideas come to life during the meeting. Even after a project is closed, we find ourselves referring to the Miro board time and again.
