Overall Satisfaction with Mimecast Advanced Email Security

Mimecast's Mail filtering & URL Protection plays a big part in our Cyber strategy. The product allows us to limit spam, turn on advanced impersonation protection, and keep our users safe. This is only a part of our cyber strategy and is used alongside other protection methods in 365, such as ATP. We also use Cybergraph alongside this product. We also use the product to send and request large files. From a support perspective, we use the mail tracking feature quite heavily.

  • Impersonation Protection.
  • Large File Send & Receive.
  • Attachment Protection.

Cons

  • Better AI capability.
  • Emerging Threat Response & Protection.
  • Support queries can often be slow to resolution.
  • Saves Time for C-Suite blocking unwanted Mails & Spam.
  • Saves time for Admins using message tracking, can go back 30 days, and EOL mail trace takes a lot longer to run.
  • Allows staff to send & Receive large files securely, saving time for IT teams having to move large amounts of data across networks or sending via other means (FTP, File transfer sites, etc), Reducing the Risk of lost data via file sharing platforms such as Dropbox, etc.
All tools are available in one console - easy to navigate, self-explanatory when adding or testing new mail policies, available from anywhere, negating the need to be on a corp VPN or network as other on-prem services provide.

I have never really used Mimecast or Sophos, which was an on-prem mail filtering tool - Now use 365 Defender services alongside Mimecast.

Yes

Great at mail protection, better AI analytics would be good, and more around emerging threats, so I tend to look at third-party sites for these scenarios to see what particular Phishing or malware campaigns are current.
