Overall Satisfaction with HRSmart
We use HR Smart as an ATS and training program. We use it for managing our recruiting cycle (resume storage, posting and progressing); training (course listing, certificates and tracking), performance management and for our annual reviews. The system is primarily used by our Talent Development team and our Human Resources team, but it does sync up with our employee database and management software (not quite an HRIS, but we use it as such).
Pros
- Does what it says it can do. There are several systems out there that claim they can do something, but they either can't or they don't address it well.
- Support Services from the providers of HRSmart (Monster).
- Partnership with Monster has provided access to their database and resources.
Cons
- Relatively difficult to use for someone who isn't tech savvy.
- Monster made changes to the system that were rolled out, but the previous functionality was better.
- Not streamlined. A process that should be simple requires way too many steps.
- We used HR Smart in the basic sense. It provided us with a Talent Development System so we could assist our employees in their career growth - leading to less turnover and improved morale.
- It provided a system for us to recruit and post for top talent.
- It was nice having both our ATS and Talent Management systems housed in one system.
HRSmart would actually be my last choice of these (lynda.com isn't an ATS so it would come in ahead, but the training on lynda.com is excellent). We are actually switching over to BirdDogHR based on functionality, price, usage and ease of use. HRSmart is an ok system, but there are better and more affordable options out there.

The decision makers are no longer here so the new team is actually moving away from HRSmart and to a different system.
