Design must have - and Getting better at prototyping year by year!
Overall Satisfaction with Figma
As a product manager, I think Figma is great because designers can drop in screenshots, and we can edit the copy without risking moving the design around from a visual layout perspective. This enables copy refinement without risking massive accidental design changes. However, I can only give Figma an 8/10 as it still lacks some key prototyping features that other tools like Azure have.
Pros
- Figjam whiteboarding.
- Library management.
- Autolayout
Cons
- Interactive prototyping.
- Dev mode being forced onto devs.
- Analytics for designers to monitor devs use.
Figma blows these out the park. Adobe's system is very different, and I think this shows in their attempted acquisition of Figma. I've not used Sketch or Invision, but their lack of market presence says a lot—designers like using the best tools. Axure is definitely more comprehensive in prototype testing but very hard to adapt to use—the hotkeys aren't even the same!
