Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox

Dropbox is our marketing image library for managing all our images and the marketing projects that encompass those images. This gives us a central storage of all images and allows us to track who accesses the image and any changes that are made. It also allows us to distribute access to partners and contracted marketing specialists!

Pros

  • Easy to access from the web
  • User interface is clean and easy to navigate
  • Uploading is simple and downloading is just as simple
  • limiting access is easy to configure
  • Ordering file structure is clean and simple as well
  • Easy to manage any library

Cons

  • File editing inside Dropbox would be nice
  • Color Coding Files would be nice
  • A more intuitive search option would help
  • We now are able to optimize our image file library
  • We have decreased our image licensing costs
  • We have eliminated duplicate images
  • We now have a fool-proof way to share images with partners and marketing contractors
It does everything I need it to do and does it well! As simple as that sounds, if you imagine a document library, you expect it to be accessible from the web, easy to navigate from the 1st use, easy for new users to use, especially contracted marketing specialists. Sending large files and never knowing if the email on your end or on the recipient's end allow that size file, is a huge waste of time without a tool like Dropbox!
It was too cumbersome and I had to involve IT too much and the cost was astronomical compared to Dropbox. Not having to invest in extra hardware or software is a huge factor in deploying file share architectures, so Dropbox was able to provide a simple solution to a common problem, and do it without a huge expense or hiring additional personnel or contracting expensive "specialists".

A common document library, a common image library, a contracts warehouse, a project repository pre-phase, during project and at completion! By being able to manage all of these common business needs in one web-based platform is a true lifesaver. Because it's web based, the only drawback would be companies with very restrictive cyber security or those concerned about that.
