Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox

We use Dropbox for file storage and file sharing across our department.

Pros

  • Version History to find older versions of files.
  • Real time synch updates.
  • Conflicted copy options to avoid data loss.

Cons

  • Occasionally the desktop app will break and won't synch.
  • Sometimes the version history isn't as many options as you want.
  • It'd be great if there was a recycle bin when deleting files in case.
  • Saves time on collaborations.
  • Saves time on reverting mistakes.
  • Saves time on file sharing.
More ease of access for version history prevents too many cooks in the kitchen from updating files and doesn't force relying on inferior G-Suite products such as sheets and slides.

Dropbox works best when you need a single complex file for everyone to have access, whereas G-suite, where anyone can update, has a better history record than G-suite and provides plenty of data storage.
