Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Firepower 1000 Series
Cisco Firepower 1000 Series is being used across my organization. We have a total of 15 branches, and they all use Firepower 1000 Series as the firewall. It elevates the cost of using MPLS. We just need a cheap internet line with decent speed to set up a VPN tunnel and it's good to go.
Pros
- VPN tunnel is very easy to set up using Firepower Management Center.
- Reusable Objects make things easier to configure and understand.
Cons
- The Dashboard is not as diverse and customizable.
- Lack of option to automatically backup FTD config
- Being able to reduce the amount of money spent on MPLS is a huge ROI for the company.
If there are issues in connectivity or traffic flow, I can troubleshoot the problem pretty quickly and resolve it right away. With a simple virtual packet flow, the firewall provides enough information to know where the problem is.
Also, because of its simplicity, it is easier for a junior network administrator to learn and master it.

Cisco Firepower 1000 is a big competitor with other big brands out there. I enjoy using it and will recommend it to others over other brands because of familiarity.
