Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Aironet 3800 Series Access Points
The Cisco 3802 series Lightweight Access Points (LAPS) are being used in our organization for wireless access, to both the Corporate network and Guest Internet services. They are deployed throughout buildings, in either the internal or external antenna configurations at the recommended distance intervals specified by Cisco. These LAPs address the issues of network connectivity in areas/rooms that are either remote or densely populated, preventing easy wired access.
Pros
- Ease of configuration when used as a LAP.
- Excellent wireless range for clients.
- Provided mounting hardware makes installation easy.
Cons
- The 3802 is rather large compared to previous models.
- Mesh is not supported in this model.
- We have never had a Cisco 3802 LAP fail so the ROI is very good.
- The 3802 LAP saves time and money versus running CAT6.
- The 3802 LAP has very good range and speed for the price.
