Overall Satisfaction with Arena
Arena is mainly used in the engineering department to store all of our design files to share with our CMs.
Pros
- Easy sharing and compartmentalizing components and assemblies with CMs
- Building and releasing ECOs
- Tracking ECO process
Cons
- The UI is confusing in some places where there are multiple menus that seem to do the same thing but actually do not
- When releasing ECOs it is hard to understand what is "shared" with vendors without looking at each component
- Arena keeps our quality up as we are all aligned with what is being released
- Price

With a small company price was a big barrier and the functionality and cost won over for Arena
Yes we worked with Arena to merge files over and release. It was a very easy experience.
For the price and implementation effort Arena wins. From what I remember windchill was "easier" to understand and see the associated files and parts.
Lessons for Success
Arena Plays a role in ensuring you are building what you think you are building. To ensure the system is used properly you need to set expectations across the organization on how it should be used and ensure these guidelines are followed.
Not too novel but storing non build items such as compliance / certification documents under the associated product has ensured the proper documentation is always used.
Use the “user” dashboard to link commentary used parts as well as view all open ecos that need to be approved.
