Overall Satisfaction with ArcGIS

ArcGIS is a better QGIS which need a geographer.
If you use or know QGIS, you know that you can cross a variety of layers (environment, agriculture, urbanism...) but with QGIS, you can have access to more layers, and to a more powerfull software which can run a entire country (for us France) and more specific layers by importing them (for example, life zone of specific protected birds)
You can manage all of your projects and find new optimal lands.

Pros

  • Managing layers
  • Managing projects
  • Have a the power the run a lot of layers without freeze or other bugs
  • Having access to more layers
  • fully configurable

Cons

  • Best cartographic software ever !
  • Finding new projects
  • Selecting qualities sites
  • Have less projects to cancel
  • Less time lost for bad sites
We have tested QGIS and ArcGIS and ArcGIS have access to more layers.
But the principal argument is that ArcGIS is more easy to use, bugs less that ArcGIS and do not crash when you are using 20 layers !

Do you think ArcGIS delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with ArcGIS's feature set?

Yes

Did ArcGIS live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of ArcGIS go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy ArcGIS again?

Yes

We are using ArcGIS every day to manage our projects. With ArcGIS, we can find a sites for new projects and justify why we have chosen a site by crossing every layers to determine each sites which is suitable for a kind of construction.
We can import or export layers, our maps with legends and use its for administrative documents.
For me, the software is the most powerful for mapping
