Overall Satisfaction with ApptioOne

Used ApptioOne software to forecast out business expenses in order to see whether the planned business expenses exceed our spending budget and to see whether those planned purchases would benefit the company based on our planned budget. The tool was used to track the expenses of various IT purchases, data repository purchases and so on.

We used the ApptioOne data ingestion and modelling function to help with our budgeting. It helped to answer our strategic questions for our upcoming budgeting when purchasing IT infrastructure such as cloud, software and data batches all which we considered buying to improve our project development stages, however with a limited budget ApptioOne visualisation helped us choose specific choices instead of buying everything and potentially losing too much money on an unsuccesful project.

Personally did not directly communicate with them, but the people who got the software set up did mention that it was a very easy and transparent process and communicating with the post-sales support team was a pleasure. In general the tool works well and there is no real reason to contact the post sales customer support team.

The biggest business impact is that it helps the IT sector of the office effectively communicate spending prices with the business sector of the company and express our needs while showing clear visualisations of how the spending would look like. This way the bussiness can evaluate our spending expenses and considering the clearly visable budget decide whether the proposed purchases are needed or not.
Compared to Microsoft Power BI and Tableau Desktop data visualisation tools I would say ApptioOne stacks up quiet well and is similar in a way. The way data is processed in the tool is really similar however the advantage of ApptioOne is that it focuses on specific business dat and helps to work specifically on it.

A project required a certain data set to be build for it. In order to build a data set there were ideas of buying different public data sets that would be used to fill our own dataset. With ApptioOne we calculated how much those purchases might cost, we compared those prices with the amount of money the projects should generate in their completion and with great visualisation ApptioOne helped calculate whether the purchases were worth the money considering the wider picture of our budget.
