Overall Satisfaction with Anaplan

We assist in the implementations of Anaplan for our clients. We have solved a variety of use cases in multiple industries all addressing complex business problems. Anaplan's flexibility allows our clients to effectively address any concern they may have. We have seen the reduction in the time to complete many business planning processes. The use cases involved include but are not limited to, financial planning, sales compensation planning, workforce planning, etc.

Pros

  • Allow global users to collaborate in real time
  • Flexibility of the platform allows it to address multiple use cases
  • Multiple integration options allow data to come in from a variety of places easily

Cons

  • I would like there to be additional visualization improvements/features for reports
  • Additional technical support resources would be great to quickly resolve bugs
  • I would like for improvements around the ability to have a lot of dimensions in a table of data and the speed around processing those calcs.
  • Every client has seen reductions in planning times
  • Time saving allows for business users to spend time on other activities
  • Increased visibility into numbers has improved day to day experience for users
Anaplan's usability is very good. Users can customize reports and make adjustments with very little training. They can quickly plan and collaborate very easily. Making large adjustments or creating complex functionality may require more experience or training but a lot of tasks can be completed by users with very little experience.
Anaplan and these other tools are very similar. I cannot say that I selected Anaplan over them as I have worked with and been involved with setting up a number of tools for clients. They all have their advantages and Anaplan is a very strong tool in the cloud planning space.

Anaplan is well suited for almost any scenario. I have seen it successfully deployed for many financial use cases, supply chain planning, and one-off use cases like marketing or specific business planning processes. It can handle almost anything a business may need. The only scenario I have seen where it is less appropriate is when the sheer amount of data loaded is extremely large. This causes the model architecture to be adjusted involving complex hierarchies and the reporting can be difficult in these situations.
