Overall Satisfaction with ADP Vantage HCM

Our entire organization utilizes the ADP Vantage HCM application in various capacities. Employees use the ADP Vantage HCM application to log in/out, check their time cards and PTO balances. Managers use ADP Vantage HCM to review time cards, perform edits, and run reports. HR and Finance practitioners perform payroll and HR related duties in ADP Vantage HCM.

My overall feedback is that ADP Vantage HCM is an above-average application and fits our business needs for the most part. There are a few areas within the payroll sections that still need to be updated, and we have lost some functionality that we experienced with Payforce.

Pros

  • The flow of data from payroll to time now takes minutes, and there is no need to wait until the next day.
  • The general look and feel of the application, especially the layout, make it easy for all users to perform their duties.
  • The insight metric and analytic dashboards are an updated view on a variety of data points.

Cons

  • The Pay Data views, while helpful in some data entry cases, can slow down batch entries if you have to update or create new views continually.
  • The state tax withholding section is a bit cumbersome and involves unnecessary movement to another screen and then back again to save the updated information.
  • ADP Vantage HCM cannot default the effective data of incoming payroll changes to the 1st day of the pay period. ADP Payforce had a flag that we could check that would do this. This is critical because although the payroll section will include retro the changes to the beginning of the pay period, the actual effective date will map over to time and not the beginning of the pay period.
  • We didn't incur any additional charges for upgrading to ADP Vantage HCM.
  • We are unable to take full advantage of the insights because of some of the implementation setup configuration last year.
  • We, unfortunately, we had to pay additional costs recently to clean up the earnings configuration to utilize the insights.
We simply upgrade to ADP Vantage from ADP Pay Force and Enterprise eTime time and attendance.
ADP Vantage HCM is well suited for large accounts with more complex payroll and time and attendance needs. I would not recommend this product for basic payroll processing. These business would be much better suited to use a lower level payroll product.

I am pleased with the level of growth potential that ADP Vantage HCM has and look forward to utilizing these in the future.

Using ADP Vantage HCM

500 - Our users fall into several categories. We have Web Pay users that simply use the application to clock in/out and view their paychecks and benefits. Our managers and supervisors have the ability to review time cards and run reports. Our Payroll Admins are responsible for performing the timecard edits and approving the time cards. And lastly, we have our Payroll department that has the access to both the Payroll and Time and Attendance sections of the application.
3 - Currently we only have a Payroll Manager, Senior Payroll Rep, and Payroll rep.

Evaluating ADP Vantage HCM and Competitors

Yes - We upgraded from the ADP Payforce application, which is set to sunset this year.

We expedited our migration to this application due to issues we had with Payforce.
I think price plays a major role in selecting the HCM application for your business. However, I think it is vital that the HCM balances Payroll and Tie and Attendance functionality without jeopardizing one over the other with another vendor.

ADP Vantage HCM Implementation

ADP Vantage HCM Training

With the online training the preferred method, my team was able to grasp the basics of ADP Vantage and then learn on the fly. It would have been helpful to have trainers onsite for our department manages.

Configuring ADP Vantage HCM

The configuration is only limited to the amount you are willing to pay to integrate.
Make sure you provide a detailed import file with specs. Expect to pay a few thousand dollars for the configuration.

I feel this product allows us to process payroll, enter changes, perform all of our time and attendance needs, and allow for improved reporting.

My most recent call into our Vantage Time and Attendance rep regarding a requested updated was a success. Diego carefully listened to my request, offered a couple of solutions, followed up as promised, and setup the changes in our test system. This allowed me to test the changes prior to updating our production system.

Using ADP Vantage HCM

Our Users have commented that the learning curve is fairly short and they can get up to speed in a small amount of time.

Yes - The mobile app allows employees to view their time cards, reports, benefits, and paycard. Managers can view the time cards of their staff and make edits.

ADP Vantage HCM Reliability

ADP Vantage is able to scale to our needs. As your organization's payroll and time and attendance needs grow, ADP has optional modules (scheduler, HR, ect.) that can be purchased. The basic reporting and metrics are nice add-ons.
We have rarely run into any issues with the applicable not being available. This is normally a client issues on their side.
There can be lag time on busy payroll processing days. The application will time you out and lock up on rare occasion.

Integrating ADP Vantage HCM

We simply had ADP build the Data Bridge and we run this utility every night.

Make sure you provide a detailed file to ADP. ADP can map to most of the fields in ADP Vantage.

Relationship with ADP

The vendor (ADP) kept us updated on a daily basis with any issues and requirements to ensure the Go-Live happened as planned. The constant communication was a real plus.
The vendor didn't change their focus or support once the sale was made.
We were able to negotiate an upgrade to ADP Vantage at no cost to our organization.
Be open, honest, and realistic with your demands. ADP will work with you as a partner and it is up to you to ensure any additional needs or requests are submitted timely.
