Overall Satisfaction with ADP SmartCompliance

our company use ADP Smartcompliance for periodic employment tax payment, wage payment and garnishment, tax notification, quarter end filing and year end filing as well. We also work closer with ADP representative for any compliance issue challenging. resolve the issue together. We continue receiving update from ADP if there us any update State, federal changes

Everything is build thru integration
ADP already provide compliance update to avoid any missing compliance changes. We continue receiving update detail from ADP Smart Compliance for any update change of compliance in different areas, local, state and federal level. Trainings are regularly provided by ADP to make sure we understand and aware of any changes
ADP Smart Compliance provide the info in one place which increase our company efficiency and productive. Avoid any back and forth checking and misleading. Also, it avoid any confusion of any changes that takes place in different areas. This is no doubt that helps us a lot. We really appreciated it
This is different systems and they have different pros and cons. Customer services from UKG are more responsive vs ADP. ADP customer may take a few days or longer to response back. Also, if you give them a call, the wait time for the rep is pretty long which is highly not recommended.

ADP SmartCompliance is user-friendly and easy to use. There is no need to deal directly with government agencies, which normally takes a long time and is time-consuming. Also, wage payment and employment tax are already paid on time to avoid any penalty and interest that may occur. ADP is a trusted well-known payroll company.

Using ADP SmartCompliance

2 - Human Resources and Finance. The employee access to ADP Smart Compliance mainly focusing on employment tax, wage payment, tax notice, wage garnishment, new State set up, tax filing for quarterly and annually. Also we work closely with ADP rep for any issue for our tax, filing and other related issues.
We don't have any people in-house to support ADP Smart Compliance on an on-going basis. When we have issue, we reach out to different parties in ADP for help and support. As that said, we pretty much rely on ADP customer service. Their prompt response and reply is affecting our process.

Evaluating ADP SmartCompliance and Competitors

The well known brand of ADP, the reliability and the knowledge that we trust ADP have. Also, since we are using WorkDay, they are suggesting us to use ADP for employment tax, wage payment and wage garnishment. No doubt ADP provide all these services and have tons of experience for this
Not sure we will do it again. But we pretty much rely on other departments too and the functionality that ADP can provide. There are some SOX concern and some other areas that ADP system may need to improve on. but we still believe that ADP has a great system

ADP SmartCompliance Implementation

Although there are meeting schedule time to time during the implementation, however, some of the time the account manager is not able to attend or miss the meeting. as that said, never able to get a full house to discuss thing in detail with a group. ADP need to look into this
Change management was a big part of the implementation and was well-handled - There are lot of steps and approval need to get done. Some of the time the instruction is not clear or not detail enough. We need extra time to get the task done or need to seek add'l help. ADP may need to consider how user friendly for the change and provide more instruction

ADP also provide in person training which can fit into our schedule. The are flexible on timing. We always have a pack schedule and not able to attend training in person if not available. Not sure the in person training with recording that can share with us especially we can review it again and again.

I think it is best to attend the training as many of the areas are confusing and not easy to find. In the training, they will let you know where to find the data, reports which may be facilitate for periodic, quarterly and annual basis. what action we need to do before year end or quarterly end

Configuring ADP SmartCompliance

we find the product for configuration is too limit and they are many areas that is not allow for edit. Some of the time we have some company specific want to add or configure in the system but it is not allow. dept change and rehire function is another issue for us
ADP should provide more insight ahead of time before the configuring happen or start. We understand there are some last minutes issue or changes that is required that may not be tailor in the system but some like rehire the same EE happen all the time in our company which cause an issue
Not that I can think of now. We only request a few customize reports and integration with workday for any wage payment, employment tax sync, quarterly sync and wage garnishment payment and notification. Other than that most of the configuration are pretty standard per my understanding and per industry perspective.

Not sure we have premium support or not. Also, didn't aware there is such a thing that we can choose from. We need to understand more what is include in the premium support as ADP is already pretty expensive and the charge increase every year which we need to look into our budget
We have been changing the different bank and bank account a few times in the past few years. ADP rep is able to point us to the right direction. Updating the bank and bank detail on time per our perspective without any delay. This is very important for us to get employee pay on time
We expect better customer service and support from ADP as they are well known and global brand. However, I don't think they provide good customer service. They response time are always delay. Some of the time they are not helpful and not able to help and resolve the question. They should be trained

The instruction that ADP provide most of the time is not detail enough. We need to get in touch with the account manager to get additional instruction or explanation how to search for a task, template or get approval. I am sure I am not the only one have this issue

ADP SmartCompliance Reliability

We use it almost every day when we run a payroll, rec'd tax notice, set up new State or local tax, bank rejection, checking tax filing, prepare our reconciliation against our on-cycle payroll , off cycle payroll and stock payroll payment. Wage payment and employment tax schedule and status of payment
We always rec'd update maintenance outages schedule from ADP by e-mail and we can plan ahead for the planned outages. I normally did not see any unplanned outage and the system is always available to use with no issue. Only 1 thing that sometime the system freeze for no reason
The performance overall is acceptable. the reports are generated and downloaded in a reasonable time frame. Upload tax notice may take a bit longer time probably now they have the pop up function that help to fill some of the information in the notice that we don't need to fill again

Integrating ADP SmartCompliance

We only integrate our wage payment, employment tax, wage garnishment with ADP Smart Compliance. not sure we may have any other areas that we need from ADP that we need to look into this internally. The integrate went smooth and many testing are done before it move to production. We are comfortable for the changes

I didn't know there are that may integrate technology provide by ADP Smart Compliance. We will need to look into this again and see anything that can help us out with. We probably need to work with our internal IT team and service vendor what is the best option for us
The advice that I want to share is do the testing as you needed to make sure you are comfortable of the integration. Make sure validation all the reports and the data after integration and save them as supporting document which is helpful for future overview or SOX related purposes.

Relationship with ADP

This is depends vendor by vendor. I read many feedback that based on the sales person and the vendors as well. If premium package is purchased, the sales process may be more efficiency and the support are more vs the basis package. This is totally understanding as this is based on what you paid
Once the project is finished. I hardly hear any follow up process from ADP to provide any service or feedback, recommendation afterward. not sure this is their normal process or we are just being ignored. Although some of the time we don't have any need, but it will be good if ADP ask and follow up
The customer service, flexibility of the system, customization. I think the price is fix which is not negotiable, so we didn't ask about this piece. We also negotiate the timing and resources that ADP can provide to us which is one of the most important piece that we need to clarify
I think follow up and follow thru is important dealing with a vendor. We want to feel that you want our business and how much you can provide and help us out. Even though some areas may not be useful for a vendor at one point but it may in the future
