Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Photoshop

Photoshop is essential in my workflow. When I wake up it’s the first software that I open on my pc. I work all day on my PC drawing and designing characters, and environments and props for video games and films. That’s why Photoshop is so important.

The software gives me total freedom thanks to the performance and tools to draw without restrictions. Some examples include things like the actions that help you to be faster at work; the smart objects that make less destructive workflow and of course the huge list of plugins to help me to create better and faster assets in Photoshop. You can find everything that you need for Photoshop from a simple plugin that makea few color adjustments to color wheels and advanced photo filters. The resources are endless. That’s why Photoshop is for me the best software for someone who spends all day long on a PC.

Pros

  • The price is just great with the new subscription so i can rent the software for a year and all the updates, even the major ones like major versions (cc 2014 to cc 2015) are included in the subscription.
  • The huge amount of resources for Photoshop
  • The compatibility with other software
  • The experience using photoshop is smooth

Cons

  • Lack of symmetry tools
  • They need to improve the 3D texturing inside photoshop
  • You need a good PC to run the software
  • If you work as a concept artist, you'll have the investment as fast as you work, in my case it was less than a month with the new year subscription plan.
  • corel painter, paint tool SAI and clip paint studio
Photoshop is the standard in the industry, and the reason that I'm still using photoshop is because of the flexibility of the software. I'm talking about brushes, plugins and constant updates. Any other software will receive updates each year, meanwhile photshop has an improved performance, new tools or fixes every 4 or 6 months. The compatibility is something that I like about photoshop; the psd files can be opened on any other software.
Photoshop is well suited for any digital artistic work, like photo edition, drawing, web design, and product design. It is less appropriate for vector illustration, you can use Photoshop but the tools don't work very well to do that, if you're looking for a PolyPaint tool photoshop will give you more problems than solutions.

Using Adobe Photoshop

1 - Concept artist
1 - I've been a Photoshop user since the first version of creative suite (CS).
  • I implement Photoshop for every project that I do.
  • The use for mobile devices apps
  • To develop tools to be faster at work
Well, I just can't imagine my workflow without Photoshop.

Evaluating Adobe Photoshop and Competitors

Yes - Corel Painter, because of the price of the license/upgrades.
  • Product Features
  • Product Usability
  • Product Reputation
  • Prior Experience with the Product
Well I'd check the brush engine that the software has and the plugins.

Adobe Photoshop Implementation

The implementation of Photoshop is pretty easy, almost every artist that has a Wacom or other drawing tablet will learn Photoshop in a short amount of time.
Change management was minimal
  • Less problems when the client sends files.

Adobe Photoshop Support

The support team is great, but it's more likely that other users will help you.
ProsCons
Quick Resolution
Good followup
Knowledgeable team
Problems get solved
No escalation required
Immediate help available
Support cares about my success
Quick Initial Response
Need to explain problems multiple times
No - because pay for the license to get support during the subscription.
I don't remember any specific time, the support is always great.

Using Adobe Photoshop

It's really easy to use, if you have a Wacom device. Photoshop will be like a canvas or a blank page that is ready to draw or sketch on.

Relatively simple

Technical support not required
Well integrated
Consistent
Quick to learn
Convenient
Feel confident using
