Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Illustrator CC
Adobe Illustrator CC has been my design platform standard since 2009. I've used Adobe illustrator for almost every design asset I've ever delivered including: web and product design assets, print files, brand development, video and animation assets for After Effects; Adobe Illustrator is by far the most complete software product for design and design handoff for other creative teams.
Pros
- Outstanding design workflow
- Design assets delivery
- File management and backups
- Easy to use and easy to learn
- Continously developing new tools
- Personally, I'm in a never ending cycle of finding new tools I didn't know before
Cons
- Improve performance on macOS Silicon hardware
- Better accessibility tools both in UI and for designing products for persons with disabilities
- It's expensive, although there are other solutions for less money but not as robust or complete as AI. You get what you pay, and you pay a lot.
- Having a budget for Adobe Creative Cloud is a must and it suits most design companies I've been, so if you're looking for a complete software that will have support and constant updates, the price is more of an investment.
The integration with Creative Cloud Libraries and Adobe Fonts, combined with the powerful array of tools offered in Adobe Illustrator makes up for the high price compared with other tools that are often free. You even get an outstanding 3D renderer built in with excellent graphics and the best workflow for creating mockups and delivery-ready solutions without going into other 3D softwares or even having to learn basic aspects.
