Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Audition
We are solely using Adobe Audition for audio-cleanup for our video production. We import the audio from recorded video and clean it up to make it pitch-perfect, remove noise, etc. It gives our video that professional quality audio that we desire, which we find to be very important for video retention.
Pros
- Audio manipulation
- Visual of audio waves to really hone in on what you're editing
- Complex program with near-infinite capabilities
Cons
- Maybe a more user-friendly interface--it's intimidating at first.
- We don't really measure. But we pay for the Creative Cloud license for multiple users to allow them to be creative and do cool things. If anything, we've gotten a positive ROI because our video production attracts new talent and new talent means more billing opportunities.
Audacity is free, but with fewer features. So it depends what you're trying to do. If you want simple audio editing, don't need to do a lot, and are freelancing, then Audacity is probably better suited for you. If you're a business and need to do a lot of audio editing, then Adobe Audition is probably better suited for you.
