Perfect solution for sending transactional emails for e-commerce order status
Use Cases and Deployment Scope
We used Mailchimp Transactional Email (Mandrill) primarily for all the transactional emails throughout the ordering processing journey from pickup to order delivered to customer. For more context, our business is around handling logistics for SMEs and we had to notify the end customers about their order status at all the touch points so that they are aware about their ordered item. In this case, we used Mailchimp Transactional Email (Mandrill) to send transactional emails at each status including picking up the item from client's location to doing end delivery or missed deliveries/reschedules etc.
Pros
- Delivery % of emails is great
- API Integration is super simple
- In-depth analytics to understand what's working or what could be improved
Cons
- Not a missing feature but few more details in analytics could be better but overall it does the job.
- Pricing could be slightly better considering there are lot of options now
Return on Investment
- Positive impact was reduction in support tickets by customers support
- Not directly on the revenue goals but it helped in improving our CSAT & NPS of clients
- Later order status updates to end customers also become our value proposition in our sales pitch
