PandaDoc
PandaDoc is well suited for when you may need to make on-the-fly adjustments to a document prior to sending. Templates are great, but sometimes they have to be changed per issuance. This is easy to adjust when needed. When hundreds of documents have to be customized, PandaDoc can be cumbersome. In many cases, I prefer a fillable PDF form, as PandaDoc does not always suit these cases.

It is great for presentations to customers and keeping them engaged in your presentation. Although it is great for creating a highly customizable presentation, some users may want even more control over font, font size and font color. Some of my colleagues have expressed some dissatisfaction with the formatting as well as saving any formatting changes that have made.

Cons
PandaDoc
  • Templates reporting doesn't really exist, you can't see how often a template is being used or not used or by who.
  • The Quote Builder features cannot be fully automated via the API yet, specifically you cannot set photos of your products except by doing it manually through the UI.
  • PandaDoc does not integrate well with Insightly CRM, a lot of standard features that PandaDoc claims can be used via a connection with the CRM do not work. Specifically, it will not pull in product data from your CRM Opportunity into the pricing table in the PandaDoc document.
  • Paragraph numbering does not continue from one text box to the next. This means that if you need a page break and have to split your numbered list into another text box it will start over at one again. So you are stuck choosing between not having page breaks which makes printing your documents ugly or manually numbering your paragraphs which is inefficient and time consuming.

  • Wish it was easier to turn the links on and off.
  • Some of their custom block styles could be easier to edit.

The reason I gave it a rating of 7 is because it's probable, but not for sure. This is because there are a few little things we don't love about pandadoc. Mostly that there is not conditional logic such as: they must either fill this field out OR this one. Also it's a little pricey. But we'll probably stay because it's good enough and a pain to switch to something new

Usability
PandaDoc
Once you get the hang of it, it's very easy to use. There can be a slightly steep learning curve to get fully in on the system. The new editor v2 has really improved usability and allows us to collaborate on documents simultaneously. Once the templates and library items are set up, a new document, whether it be a sales or HR document, takes very little time to complete.

Performance
PandaDoc
The documents load quickly for the most part but sometimes if there are larger documents with a high number of variables it could take a bit longer to get the document to show up. Most of the time the document comes on the screen relatively quickly allowing for quick access to documents to be edited and sent out.

Support Rating
PandaDoc
Recently I could not upload a pdf to a contract - support was very responsive and easy to work with. They got back to me the next day with an apparent fix - however when I opened the document nothing had changed. I then could not respond to the rep who was helping me because it was a "no-reply address", the problem still has not been solved and we had to make alternate arrangements to get this to the client. Never had it happen before and was only with this one contract.

Qwilr was a really quick and easy setup, which I think is great for smaller teams that have simple sales processes and cycles. Once more complication is it will fall short in providing the level of control and detail that is needed for a larger sales team. The end product is very elegant but comes down to the needs of the organization.
