ExpressVPN
I leave it connected all the time, whether I am browsing or not. It is a safety switch that needs to be engaged constantly to protect my computer from anyone or any organization wishing to gather data on my activity. My research suggested that a VPN may slow my search speed, but I have not found that to be the case. In fact, I can not even tell the difference in search speed when I am connected to the VPN or disconnected.

F5
I think that the platform is well suited to many Remote Access VPN solutions, but I also think there is a lot of room for improvement on the backend. If you are hoping to deploy your APM solution across many different datacenters or colos, it may not be the best choice for the final solution.

Cons
ExpressVPN
  • I would like the disconnect to be instantaneous. It is not.

  • CCU Licenses are limited by device and are not shared between APM devices
  • User sessions are not stored globally, so persistence can be an issue with users all over the world
  • Configuration can get complicated when split up between multiple sites

Alternatives Considered
ExpressVPN
I took a look at NordVPN, but the ratings for ExpressVPN were higher. More servers and faster transfer times made it a simple decision. I am glad I made the right choice.

F5
It is open platform so support is not good and than F5 and features visibility as not good as F5. F5 Set up and easy to use to admin console. Also have more feature visibility for load balancing, web server accelerator, application server ddos protection and WAF. F5 more efficient to handle concurrent request.

Return on Investment
ExpressVPN
  • My customers are happy that I am using every security measure available. Increased sales.
  • Productivity has not decreased, while security level has increased.
  • The initial cost was reasonable.

F5
  • This is really a tough question and I believe F5 should look into the price tags of these products which would help the SMB segments to use this product.
  • As for our industry and the kind of business the ROI is a bit high.
