Kaspersky Hybrid Cloud Security provides cloud-native protection for hybrid environments.
We were wanting to prove the concept of a low touch process for quickly spinning up boilerplate AWS environments. We were able to get started quickly and to ensure that the AWS Well-Architected Framework principles were followed - at least upfront - however, we found that for our use case and expertise level it ultimately wasn't a fit. We have the skills on our team to manage more of this on our own. My recommendation would be contingent on what skills are already available on your team: if you can "do it yourself" you might as well so that you don't pay for resources you don't need and you have finer grain control over what's created.
If you have a hybrid cloud architecture and are looking for a flexible and complete security solution, Kaspersky Hybrid Cloud Security is what you need. Despite some minor difficulties, the solution's effectiveness in threat detection, scalability, and interoperability with multiple cloud platforms positions it as a significant asset for safeguarding dynamic and hybrid cloud settings.
Ease of use: We find the solution's interface and management console complex and difficult to navigate.
Limited scalability: We find that the solution has limited scalability options, making it difficult to accommodate the needs of larger organizations.
Limited reporting and analytics capabilities: We find that the solution's reporting and analytics capabilities are limited, making it difficult to gain visibility into the security status of their environment.
High cost, It's an expensive investment for small organization like us.
There is no way to easily close an AWS account whether it was created manually or via the AWS Control Tower. It takes too many steps to close it vs to provision a new AWS account
Protection against advanced threats, as the solution includes advanced threat prevention technologies, such as sandboxing and detection of abnormal behavior in daily accesses. Centralized management, allows you to manage the security of several devices from a single management console.
Using AWS Systems Manager and other slightly lower level components has been helpful for us to manage parts of our AWS presence at a more granular level than AWS Control Tower was designed for. It's not at all an apples-to-apples comparison as they solve different use cases, but for us, the use case associated with AWS Systems Manager was a better fit for our specific needs and skillsets. We did not need everything that AWS Control Tower was doing for us.
Kaspersky Hybrid Cloud Security is better on scanning and removing malware. It got automated removal and got a feature called advanced disinfection. If we can’t remove trying to restart the device the remove it also we can control everything on devices like apps, devices and even the websites the administrator can determine which group or device can access.
It has negatively impacted our ROI as we have to spend too many man-hours managing the product and reinstalling it.
We have had to remove the software 6 months early due to continuing issues and concerns over the protection offered. This has caused us to lose out on licensing costs already paid for.
