Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Teams
We use Teams on a daily-basis for a wide variety of meetings: internal and external. Sometimes in group, sometimes 1-1 (with only two participants). The Teams chat and the screen sharing features are almost always used. People turn their cameras on most of the time, and mute themselves when not speaking. Some participants join from their mobile device if they are not at the office or at home at the time of the call.
- Screen-sharing capability
- Team chat
- Force-call attendees who are late to the call
- The polls functionality is hard to find
- Presenting a document and seeing people's faces is not easy
- Muting a participant requires multiple clicks
- Feeling of belonging to the same team even if members are in different countries
- Efficient and swift communication between coworkers
- Smooth and easy onboarding process for new employees (e.g. trainings via Teams sessions)
- Skype for Business, now part of Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex DX80 (discontinued) and Zoom
Teams is the best of the company message tools that I have used so far because it integrates so many functionalities. Teams goes way beyond the instant messaging or video calls features with screen-sharing. It integrated with your calendar, enables you to do task tracking (e.g. Kanban boards) and use channels per topic or project. Additionally, the video call & instant messaging features are more elaborate than on other platforms: you can do polls, search by keyword or sender (the conversation history is well stored), send reactions, and share pictures and other files very easily.
