Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft 365 Defender
We use it for threat detection within our microsoft 365 enviroment to help secure our email, sharepoint data, teams etc. It is very useful in that reguard as it gives us realtime alerts on end users devices that may have been compromised. It is nice to be able to lock down various parts of 365 as well.
- Threat detection
- Email security
- Access management
- A more intuitive interface
- Stop moving around features
- Quit rebranding products
- The cost is low relative to what you get
- It is not easy for beginners to use
- It detects issues quickly
As most organizations dont have a dedicated cybersecurity team it usually falls on the operations team to deal with the security. The challenges this creates are usually staffing and budget constraints not allowing us to implement monitoring tools that give us the data we need to monitor our entire enviroment.
It gives us the information we need in order to get a more complete picture of the security of our entire it landscape in one place. This allows us the opportunity to be more proactive in managing security issues before they become catastrophes.
We dont currently use the automated response feature but plan to in the future after more research in to the best way to implement it in our enviroment in a way that doesnt effect the users ability to use the software they depend on to do thier job.
We plan to in the future once we have done some more research on the best way to implement it in our enviroment.
This is not a feature that we have currently used.
We use sophos endpoint protection and xg firewalls in conjunction with microsoft 365 defender. We dont believe defender is robust enough to be our only security solution but it works well as another line of defense from threats to our organization especially our ever growing microsoft 365 enviroments list of applications.
