Overall Satisfaction with JobBOSS²
We use JobBOSS² as an enterprise-wide ERP system. From Estimate to Invoice, the ERP system incorporates all aspects of work. Creating estimates that convert into orders/jobs and act as shop travelers is key to managing production. The interface is straightforward to learn at first. There are more sophisticated features that take longer to master. The ease of use is also a challenge - anyone can enter part numbers (that have access), and controlling key nomenclature is important to avoid redundant parts and dilute the value of the ERP control. The built-in features are best for managing job costing, creating job requirements and purchase orders, and invoicing jobs. We do not use any integrations with financial software (QuickBooks or other) and find the accounting system is sufficient for our use (with the help of an outsourced accounting firm).
- Job Costing
- Invoicing
- Purchase order creation
- CRM is bare bones and requires an external program to be more effective
- Automatic Job Scheduling is hard to master - another program for project management is required
- Internal communication is limited. We rely on other systems to support communication
- Increased responsiveness to customers on quotes, improving quote accuracy.
- Clear understanding of job costing to help improve margins
- Integration with quality management system helps track non-conformances, corrective actions, and provide historical data.
In a job shop, the volume of orders can be challenging, especially if the jobs are different. JobBOSS² allows us to see similar orders to create standardization of like parts, even where parts are different. Moreover, attaching certifications and test inspections to parts allows for easier record-keeping.
No integrations except Knowledge Synch and our QMS. JobBOSS² provides a way to track quality objective quality evidence more easily.
We switched from Epicor Kinetic mainly because Epicor's quoting module was difficult to use. JobBOSS² is more suited to the job shop quoting environment.
