Overall Satisfaction with Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to track and monitor use of external websites, internal websites and recruitment marketing efforts. It allows us to see what content is most successful, channels we should focus on and what’s actually being used on our sites. Without the data from Google Analytics we wouldn’t know what impact our efforts have on bringing new people to the company.
- Tracks and gathers data
- Provides insight on user/customer behavior
- Is customizable for reporting and tracking
- One of the most powerful features is using RegEx, which takes some time to learn and is not always intuitive
- It is a complex and large system and can take time to learn
- Goals
- Visitor attribution
- User behavior on our site
- It allows us to see exactly what our ROI is on marketing efforts
- It has helped us track and stop external attacks on our site
- It has helped us identify parts of the site that are never used and that can be eliminated
Google provides a wide suite of products that all tie into Google Analytics. Some that I use most often are Tag Manager, Ads and Datastudio. All of these connect directly with Analytics and allow me to accomplish my goals. For example, Ads will connect and show me what Ads are bringing people to my site to convert. Datastudio allows me to create a variety of reports showing how sites are being used.
