Overall Satisfaction with BambooHR
We use BambooHR for all HR and Payroll facets now. We use the ATS system, the HR Management and just recently added Payroll, Time Tracking and Benefits. We love the ease of use and the way the system flows into each module. Payroll has made a huge difference in our process, and we enjoy it.
- The Applicant Tracking System is pretty good. Has a couple flaws but over all it's a really great module.
- The HR management system works really well and we love how much we can customize things we need.
- The Reporting feature is one of my favorite things about BambooHR. I can create any report I want and I love that.
- I would love to see a DARK mode in BambooHR. The white is super hard on my eyes, and as the admin, I spend a lot of time in BambooHR.
- The Rehire protocol in BambooHR's ATS system is non existent and needs addressed.
- Need to have the ability to have more details on the Benefits module. Not being able to download or email an election sheet to our agent is frustrating.
- On approvals of Time off requests, it would be nice if the approval inbox notification would show what the employees current balances are for PTO, Vacation, Sick Time, etc. so we know if their request is valid. Right now we have to open another window to review their time off tab to see if it's okay to approve their requests.
- This has impacted our cost savings overall in respect to better management of our Time Off policies and not overpaying on benefits.
- This is a time saver for administration and managers and helps them be more productive in areas that are of more urgent need.
- It provides a huge resource for our company in reports that we didn't have before.
BambooHR's reporting feature is really great. They provide many standard reports, but the best feature of all is the customizable reporting. I can pretty much create a report for anything I need using only the data fields I want and then can create a custom standard name for this report and use it over and over. If I don't need it anymore, I can get rid of it. I love that you can convert most reports to PDF or Excel.
We started implementation with ADP Workforce Now and it was a 6 month nightmare of complicated protocols and our company having to bend our processes to fit their platform. It was hard to get assistance and answers from their support team were very vague. We ultimately decided to end the relationship with ADP and stay with BambooHR, which we really loved, but we decided to add more modules as in Payroll, Time Tracking and Benefits. While these new features are not perfect yet, they do get the bulk of what we do down. Now if BambooHR would focus these modules on the forgotten industry of Construction. Job Costing is so important.

2 - BambooHR is pretty simple to use, so it only requires one or two of us to be well versed and administer all other users and any issues or questions they may have.

- Would like to have a more robust Applicant Tracking System where you can create an internal career center for existing employees to apply.
- Would like for the ATS system to allow for more administrative features like creating a Question Bank database to create, edit and move around certain application questions and allow different sets of questions to be stored for different positions and then import them into requisitions as needed.
Evaluating BambooHR and Competitors
Yes - We were doing everything via Pen, Paper and spreadsheets prior to BambooHR. Getting BambooHR really ramped up our HR departments accuracy and ability to manage our employees.

The single most thing that sold us on BambooHR was the Ease of Use and how many things we could track successfully in the system. The reporting feature was a huge selling point, along with the ATS.
I think if we had to do it again, we would still have selected BambooHR hands down. We have reviewed many other companies and we just do see the same quality, especially when it comes to the BambooHR support team.

I wasn't aware of any different levels of support. As far as I know I get quality support on our current package. We love the support teams.
Yes - I've reported a few bugs in my time with BambooHR. They are usually highly responsive and the matters have been resolved in hours or usually less than a day. We are usually pretty satisfied with how quickly it is handled.
We were having issues with system pulling in a duplicate field when our managers were submitting termination requests. BambooHR's support team looked into it, escalated it to developers and the problem was resolved and corrected within 24 hours.

- The Onboarding system with respect to documents could be a little easier to use.
