What is Adobe Connect?
Adobe Connect is a web conferencing platform that provides standard features like video, audio, screen-sharing, polls, chat, Q&A, and document transfers, as well as the ability for users to create presentations, online training materials, and learning modules.
The product is entirely Adobe Flash-based and has several add-ons for customizing its software to suit each users’ unique needs. Some extensions that are available include, but are not limited to, Closed Captioning support, Word Cloud (for visualizing live discussions), and MP3 player for adding music to users’ meeting rooms.
Users can create or style their own meeting room layouts which can be saved. They can also add multiple chat pods, polls, quizzes, simulations, breakout rooms, HD video, and games to make meetings and online conferencing more interactive. Additionally, Adobe Connect allows for presenters and hosts to utilize a “virtual backstage” to chat and collaborate outside of the main meeting or conference. It also allows for users to go into a “preparation mode” to make adjustments right before or during a session.
Pricing for Adobe Connect Meetings ranges from $50/mo up to $370/mo. Additional webinar capabilities through Adobe Connect Webinar ranges $140/mo to $580/mo, from a webinar with 100 participants to one with up to 1000 participants.

(1-25 of 43)Adobe Connect Allows for Nice Accessibility for Webinars
- I like how Connect's pods are clearly separated on the screen so webinar attendees have everything broken out nicely for them to see.
- Connect allows us to easily mute and unmute individuals by looking at that pod where a bunch of names are displayed.
- Connect allows us to be able to upload all materials (Power Points, other documents, etc) before the webinar and then pull them up as needed during the webinar. It also allowed us to do other things on our computer when hosting a webinar. Some other webinar platforms "take over" your computer and limits being able to multi-task.
- At our organization we ended up having to connect a separate phone/audio line that allowed people the option of listening by phone. We don't need to do that with Zoom.
- Uploading files seemed to take a decent amount of time using Connect, which meant we needed to start preparing for webinars sooner than what we wanted to.
- Connect seemed to freeze up quite a bit on us while we have not had that issue when using Zoom as much.
As far as getting people used to using Connect for attending webinars, we often had to provide a tech intro. I think, part of this is because people are not as familiar with it compared with Zoom. Zoom's layout is more common for people and I think they feel comfortable with it more.
Engage and Collaborate from Anywhere and Everywhere
- Love how you can create custom layouts ahead of time and seamlessly change from one to another during a session.
- There are so many creative ways to use the whiteboard features.
- Being able to keep participants in one layout while you go into other layouts and make changes, updates, etc. has been incredibly helpful.
- The breakout rooms have endless use cases.
- I wish Adobe provided the audio directly to the customer rather than requiring an outside telecom provider be selected if you want audio beyond VOIP.
- It's nice to be able to upload PPT presentations into a share pod, but if the PPT is more than basic, I find several animations, fonts, etc. are not supported, completely changing the way the presentation comes across. This makes it impossible for me to utilize the feature most of the time and a screen share is the next best option.
Adobe Connect Review
- Allowed upload of course materials.
- Customization of classrooms for various courses.
- Ability to save classroom set-ups for future use.
- The audio connection did not allow for various call-in options (mixed dial-in & computer broke breakout rooms)
- Videos lagged for users & often froze so, it was determined the issue was not on our end but Adobe Connect's
- Required additional set-up time for users pre-session; we often had to connect with users one on one to complete this.
Adobe Connect Review for Training Experience

- Layouts Setups
- AV stability

Connectivity issues and connectivity dropping too big of an issue.
- I love the fact that you can do screen sharing with this program so that we can see what our trainer is seeing on their computer screen.
- I like the features such as raising hands and you know thumbs up thumbs down applaud laugh step away because I use all of those in the training classes that I've been with my company. We use the raised hand function in order to ask questions so if anybody in our training class has a question we just click on the raise hand option. And whenever we go on break we use the step away function.
- I like the fact that it has the function to not only use a microphone but also a camera so that when we come up to answer questions in our training class we go on camera as well as Mike and people get a chance to see who we are and that we're real people and actually hear our voices.
- One of the issues that I am constantly having with Adobe connect is connection issues with my company I use a lot of programs and they all require access to our VPN and a hardwired internet connection. Because our company has gone into the settings of our all-in-one computers and deactivated the functionality of being able to use wi-fi. I'm able to use the internet with no problem on my computer. I'm able to use all of the programs without any connection issues whatsoever accessing the VPN for our company but Adobe connect is constantly dropping in connection status. There's an icon in the upper left-hand corner that shows us out of four bars what are connection is at and I am constantly dropping between four green bars down to two orange bars. So the connectivity issues are a constant issue with Adobe connect.
Great online training tool
- Ability to conduct online training sessions.
- Ability for users to connect from any location.
- Ability to record.
- It is fairly expensive.
- More online tutorials for admins.
"For professionals, it's a really valuable tool."
- It's a quick method to exchange files, file, documents, and videos from a web app. Real-time conversation, and screen-sharing are all supported. It has a highly user-friendly interface. It is really simple to assist the teams.
- Even team engagements is beneficial since it allows them to share their expertise with others, and the big benefit is the security of the rooms' access is fairly simple to manage.
- The interface, which include features like notes, chat, pods, etc. When we're trying to gather rapid and exact information, simplify our work as much as possible.
- Adobe Connect's features since they allow team members to express their ideas during meetings without causing disruptions, thereby bypassing the current international boundary of distance.
- The recording options don't always function.
- When sharing media, files saved on the server may fail to upload.
- The internet load might cause connectivity issues, causing individuals or the entire session to fail.
It is very easy to make a connection
- Adobe Connect is a very effective tool, which is built on pod systems, where each pod performs a specific task. I have found it very effective for having meetings with my clients. It has covered all the distances and within few seconds it helps me to get connected.
- I like its interface which is very appealing because of its simplicity. Now, I never schedule any visits but use Adobe connect for showing the product description.
- Adobe Connect is helping me a lot to have meetings and sessions, across the world I can easily stay in touch with my foreign clients.
- Sometimes the system gets slow during the long-running of the application and we have to shut down the application, which consumes our time.
- Adobe Connect is a costly solution and its installation is not very easy.
- We also faced some issue during its purchasing to this needs an urgent attention.
- Ability to customize the layout of webinar rooms to tailor to my audience.
- Ability to add polls and Q&A.
- Ability to have more than one host at any given time.
- Recording a session isn't very straight forward.
- Tech issues such as participant getting kicked out.
- PowerPoint doesn't translate well through the Adobe Connect platform.
Bugs. Unstable.
- the app makes easy to deliver coaching and courses
- intuitive menu
- files and link sharing features
- some bugs and lags
- no virtual backgrounds
- video quality (especially compared to other vendors)
A decent web conferencing platform
- Online training.
- Polls or questionnaires.
- Sharing documents and links on the go.
- Can’t set a virtual background.
- No option to call the ones attending.
- Troubleshooting can be improved.
It works as an online collaboration tool, but there are better alternatives out there.
- Flexibility to move pods around the screen
- Outdated interface
- Not as robust as other more modern solutions such as Webex and Zoom
- Feels very sluggish on users' computers
Adobe Connect - Connecting Us One Meeting at a Time
- Adobe Connect offers the same features you find with WebEx, but seems more professional.
- I love the chat feature which allows for questions without interrupting the presenter.
- I also love the screen sharing/presentation feature which allows the opportunity to present in a clear and concise way
- It is not as user friendly as zoom and other virtual meeting tools
- I’ve had techincal issues with sound
Good platform with room for improvement
- The user interface and controls and commands are fairly intuitive. Even if audio or video isn't working, you can usually figure it out within a minute or two.
- It functions well and seems to transition from feature to feature or capability to another capability. Doesn't seem clunky at all, but is clean.
- Other capabilities instead of just audio and video is present too, but they haven't been fully explored or leveraged yet.
- The overall connection and lag sometimes are disruptive. This may not be due to the platform as a whole, connectivity, and strength of the signal is probably a factor but it can get glitchy sometimes.
- More features for remote desktop options, whiteboarding, or screen sharing to actively resolve issues would be great while collaborating.
- Online support or forums to help assist with issues aren't as prevalent as you think they'd be. More individual resources to assist with issues would be helpful.
Amazing tool for online events
- Connectivity
- Interactivity
- Easy use
- I would like to see in the tool, remote access feature, for support, like Team Viewer. That would replace the tool in that too.
Expand your reach and connect globally
- The ability to customize your screen layouts. making each classroom unique.
- Bandwidth and connectivity. Many other webinar platforms have limitations of how many users can attend with cameras. Adobe has no limit on how many users can join a meeting and stream live an HD quality camera. This feature makes the platform a true virtual classroom.
- Low cost. The pricing for a license is surprisingly affordable. Adobe has demonstrated great customer support as well. they offer other services - like having a tech expert available to assist with new users having any type of issues.
- There are some connectivity drops. This results in users having to log out and log back in. that generally solves it but multiple instances can lead to frustration.
- A smoother interface would be a nice enhancement. maybe some of the windows could be hidden and brought up as hover over windows.
- The backend CMS is easy enough to manage after you have worked in it for a while but there are a lot of root folders depending on your setup and it can be slightly clunky to navigate to where all your materials and content is.
A way to connect
- Train in real-time.
- Connect nationally.
- Can include attachments.
- Limited settings.
- Sound issues.
- User issues due to unclear instructions.
Adobe Connect good for some things
- Allows the use of third-party add-ins such as a timer, or user poll. Pretty easy to set up.
- Love how you can set up multiple classrooms and create branding for each.
- Convenient method for contacting participants. Provide templates for sending out notifications.
- For some add-ins the functionality was limited - had problem with the PowerPoint slideshow feature. It did not always display properly as you progressed in slides.
- Some of the features were not compatible with phones. For example, Some participants were using phones to participate in class and the features were not compatible. There was no way to test the feature compatibility with different platforms. You create something beautiful for your trainees and you are unable to use.
- The price points were not very flexible. I had limited needs and I was paying a higher price tag than I should for what I needed. They should be more flexible with pricing based on features needed.
- Downloading recordings was a HUGE pain in the neck. Most of the training conducted lasted 3 hours or more. I felt like I was being punished to have to play back the entire presentation to download the recording.
a perfect software for doing the works remotely
- We have been using Adobe Connect for several years, and so far everybody seems very happy with it.
- I like it as a webinar platform as it has a nice mix of features
- From my perspective as a technical course developer, it is my hope was to use a software product that is intuitive, powerful and seamless for my eLearning courses. Adobe Connect delivered on all three. The Adobe Connect Library directory structure and file sharing options felt very familiar and were easy to navigate and deleting files/changing file names if I goofed up was a breeze. Being able to easily upload my PowerPoint/Presenter converted lessons saved me time and allowed me to share my work with other developers and instructors for review and testing simply by emailing the course link.
- Personally, I like very much the fact that you can easily share your screen with others, or allow them to take control of yours. The tool is very intuitive, and this is proven by the fact that nobody ever needed any training on it.
- At times there are issues using Adobe Connect with different browsers, like Chrome. I hope that Adobe Connect has plans to update its software to be more compatible with this and other browsers, especially for students who use Apple computers and don't use Internet Explorer. Different user settings can also make it difficult to hear when people speak via their microphones.
- The only drawback came with co-teaching some distance education sessions. Both participants had to be in the same room and it got a little clunky at times. It would be nice if there was a way to set up a private window between presenters to exchange notes during a session.
Adobe Connect: Communication 101
- Immediate communication within a secure environment between the host, or hosts, and attendees is a major benefit of Adobe Connect.
- The ability to screen share is second to none and can be done immediately in the current session, or if the host pulls an attendee, or attendees, to a Break Out.
- File sharing when those important files come through that require notification to a group as a whole is also something Adobe Connect does well.
- Finally, the ability to post polls, create a white board for interaction with employees, and other items are just some of the benefits of Adobe Connect
- The one major issue I have experienced with Adobe Connect is the lag or "boot" when there are too many people present. When attendees reached the maximum amount, I see a huge lag when moving to a Break Out, an unresponsive or frozen room, or one may get what we term "booted". This is very frustrating for employees when time is of the essence.Opening up the parameters a bit on attendees to prevent these issues would be greatly appreciated.
- Color. Color. Color. Although you are in a working environment, color is appreciate, but limited when creating pods to discuss or post items. The background is very drab and has no "pop" to it. Employees may see items differently if the pods background was something other than gray.
- Videos. Videos tend to have a lag as well when doing real-time face to face discussion. There seems to be a pixelation issue that has been occurring for years now when viewing videos.
Adobe Connects the Dots--Mostly
- Provides a recorded archive of meetings and training webinars. This fact is important as we need a record of the events and redistribute archived training.
- Allows many participants to attend the Live Webinars or meetings without issue. As the number of participants is not the same each time, having the ability to invite as many as possible is a real plus.
- Provides a log in the email with a link and connection information for people to join the meeting or webinar. This step is important as without it, people could not actually enjoy the benefits of the meeting or webinar.
- Although it is a necessity to have the login email information shared with participants, we have had occasions when the link did not work properly or--more often--the Meeting ID did not allow the participant to enter the meeting room. As this is an issue that is only discovered at the meeting time (you cannot "try it" before the meeting time), it is problematic when it does not work.
- Adobe Connect does not have the ability to SHARE SCREENS. There is one presenter who can put up documents for the participants to view, but there is no ability to change the Presenter so that multiple screens could be shared. In a roundtable discussion, it would be helpful if different people could share or trade control during the same meeting.
- There is no ability to see the participants. Although I am sometimes in my lounge clothes when I attend an Adobe Connect meeting, face-to-face contact is helpful for engaging with an audience or for nonverbal communication. Although I think each participant should have control over the ability to use or not use video, I think it should be an option.
Function and Form with a Learning Curve
The product allows us to provide live customer-facing demonstrations of new technology. We're able to send a quick link and easily screencast and conference with customers across the country.
- All of my Adobe presentations look extremely professional. The ability to import files that I've created in other programs allows me to utilize different design tools and bring their best elements with me.
- Breakout rooms are excellent for taking a large class and separating them into smaller groups where they can collaborate and then come back to the large group experience. This is vital for us in building a virtual learning space that people are actively engaged in.
- Simple interface for starting cameras and microphones. We've used some other products that needed their own manual for turning on a webcam. This is a simple click and even provides a preview before anything goes live. This is in addition to a splash screen when you enter a meeting that will walk all new users through the process, saving the presenters time.
- Our biggest complaint is always the lag in VoIP conferencing. It seems to fluctuate, but we can have as much as 5-7 seconds of delay at times. This can be a quick way to stifle any discussion that might be taking place. This ends up with a lot of people talking over one another.
- First-time users sometimes have issues getting the program to open. There is an initial download to get the meeting rooms open and if it doesn't happen automatically, we need to instruct users to try and rejoin the meeting. This isn't a difficult step, but it can prove to be annoying when working with 30-50 new users at one time.
A one stop shop with very mediocre products
- I like the many options the program offers such as chatbox, share screen, record meetings (to generate on-demand content for those who cannot attend a meeting).
- The quality (resolution) of webcam and screen share is very poor, other programs such as Workplace have a better webcam resolution
- Live streaming has a lot of lag (this might be a network issue)
- generating simple on-demand content
