MIP Fund Accounting™ is a configurable fund accounting solution. The solution includes functionality for fund accounting, procurement, budgeting, payroll, human resources, timekeeping, fixed asset management, grant management, and dashboards for nonprofits and government agencies.
Sage Intacct is very intuitive which has been great. Abila MIP and Blackbaud systems were not very intuitive and required calling in to figure how to set the system up properly or fix what you did incorrectly. That was a frustrating process depending on who you got on the …
We used MIP Fund Accounting for about six years until they were no longer able to keep up with the needs of the market. It ran off of Remote Desktop which was slow and clunky and ultimately made it impossible for a couple of our team members to log in. Their cloud version was …
Sage's dual approval process blows MIP's internal control capabilities out of the water. Sage's statistical accounts and integration of non-financial information make the software relevant and useful for the entire organization.
Its price was more reasonable compared to other similar platforms. Also, it's support system was great and could respond fast if there was any problem compared to other competitors
We transitioned to Sage Intacct from QuickBooks
Desktop Pro. This version of QuickBooks was local server-based, and [since] we
did not have a VPN connection, our finance team had to be physically on-site
Multi entity capabilities and the "dimension" structure resulted in our choosing Intacct over the others we evaluated. Sage has incredible reporting capabilities and the ability to easily customize reports and dashboards tipped the scale in our decision making process.
[Sage] Intacct is much easier to use than the other software we use for different clients. Bill.com does not offer the features that [Sage] Intacct does, and Abila has been outdated for 15 years. There is no comparison between these software's and Sage [Intacct] in my opinion. …
Sage Inacct is more user friendly and can take more transactions than MIP. Sage is also cloud-based where MIP is not and it is harder to keep it updated with the best version. Sage is just a more up-to-date version of the MIP software and helps us work remotely.
I liked the financial reporting functionality of Sage Intacct, but MIP Fund Accounting is definitely the better product for tracking many different funds.
While I feel Sage Intacct is a good software, it does not suite the needs of the organization the way MIP does. As I had mentioned, the Knowledgebase that MIP Fund Accounting has is an incredible tool that makes it so much easier for us to find solutions and to get the help we …
MIP Fund Accounting was highly recommended by our funding source, as other Workforce Development councils (10 out of 12) in our state used it. We did get other bids for procurement purposes, but MIP was the clear choice for us.
We are in the very first stages of looking at alternative accounting software. Abila MIP Fund Accounting was implemented at our organization before I started and our organization has now outgrown the system.
It was the right option at the time we converted to it (2009). We have since seen other online options that look good but are very costly. Prior to MIP we used Solomon (a Microsoft product) and have previewed Intacct.
I have no experience with other non-profit solutions, but the other accounting software such as QuickBooks and Intacct, would not provide the coding for the different departments and programs.
