If you're looking to build an online presence and are able to be profitable while paying for this platform, it's a great platform that typically ranks pretty high on google if you do your SEO well.

I would say if you are a real tiny business with only a select few items, you may not need a platform like EVOx but, you still could utilize it if it seems fitting for your business. It really depends on the business and what they are trying to do.

It's well suited for large eCommerce stores as it requires much effort to set up and the development cost for setting it up is high. It's less appropriate to use Magento where you are looking for quick development and launch of the store. Also, it is required to have a developer or sometimes the entire tech team to manage an e-commerce store, so you may need to hire a few PHP developers.

It's the dominant force in the SMB open source market. With the continued support of eBay/PayPal, Magento will continue to evolve and should be a market leader for some time.

It is easy to use and as they have been updating their platform, it has gotten even much more easier to utilize and navigate.

Evolution X feels better built specifically for our industry and helps to provide relevant supplier catalogues, it also opens us up to dialogue with new suppliers and partnerships to form around this. For instance our ACCO account has grown by x8 since we started adding their catalogue by Fusion Data via EVOX. PrestaShop is all added by spreadsheet and there is no pre-populated catalogue ready to add which means it relies on our in-house capabilities or the supplier to provide feeds to import which not many of them have

In looking at a different platform to migrate to from Magento 1, we looked primarily at Big Commerce, Shopify and Shopify Plus. Our host was very negative about Magento 2, but we determined after a couple years it was due to the fact it had even more complexity (and very different) than Magento 1. Shopify Plus was attractive, but the cost factor for two sites led us back to Magento 2.

• With account setup this has saved a lot of time, where typically it may have taken 10 minutes to setup an account, customer can now do this themselves and even make changes, our old site relied entirely on a staff member and this has therefore reduced overhead
• With exposure to Fusion Data our categories have grown hugely, particularly Beeswift into workwear where we never sold any workwear but the rare incidental from VOW Wholesale, we've been allowed to grow into other categories more frequently with returning customers and new.
